Those of you who know me, or have followed me on social media will know how many times I have changed my hair and that’s a lot! But for those of you who haven’t – which I suppose is the majority – I thought it’d be a quirky idea to show you the stages of my hair over the years!

Now, some of these photos are going to be cringy, VERY cringy but that’s the fun of it all! Isn’t it? Yes, let’s all laugh at kayla and her stupid hair stages – it’s okay I’ve laughed at myself too.

Where do I start? I have hunted through social media and the earliest picture of me i can find is in 2010. Welcome to 15 year old Kayla. Shoulder length natural coloured hair. Lots of layers, and a heavy fringe.

Early 2011 – we chopped it alllllll off! I went through the Frankie Sandford stage. Remember that? I definitely do! I feel short hair is a lot harder to keep up with, especially when it grows at the rate mine does. Trying to keep it maintained and at the length I wanted meant very often trips to the hairdressers.

June 2011 – My prom! We decided to go bleach blonde! Okay I kinda secretly loved my hair like this.

And then I few months later I went ginger. Well – I actually tried to go red but we ended up ginger because of the bleach and I actually kinda liked it.

By this time, my hair was dead and I wanted to start growing it out. I dyed it back a natural colour to try and get it back into a decent condition – this helped out a lot! Along side copious amounts of deep conditioning and hair masks.

By July 2012 my hair was in much better condition and had grown a considerable amount so I jumped on the extensions band wagon. With my hair still a natural colour. (Please excuse the crappy webcam quality)

By November/December I was yet again bored with my natural hair colour and decided to go red again – this time more of a dark/cherry red – still wearing extensions.

But obviously, I get bored quite easily! By the end of 2013 my hair was back a dark brown but with a full fringe this time.

By December, I’d cut it all off again and gone majorly dark, almost black with a cute chin length bob style.

Mid 2014 I stripped it and went a beautiful aurbun colour! With the same dorky fringe and cut.

Guess what? By the December I was back dark! Shock horror.

Miss indecisive was on her wait back lighter by April 2015 whilst trying to grow my hair out a little. How many different shades can you spot here?

Throughout last year my hair got lighter and lighter… p.s I think when my hair was a mixture of browns and blondes is my ultimate fave.

Until we finally got blonde! Around September time, whilst still trying to grow my hair out – big mistake! Going fully bleach blonde killed my hair, a lot. I had to get it all cut off, bob length again because the ends were just dead and fried. :(((

Earlier this year I decided to turn back to the darker side until I get my hair to a length I’m comfortable with and then I will probably get some highlights and/or go for a baylage look with some lighter shades through.

So that is my hair-story so far. As you can see, I’m very indecisive with my hair but I guess that’s just a part of who I am.

  1. I’m SO like you! I get so bored of the way I look and normally change my hair or get a new piercing, oops. I also bleached my hair and it was such a mistake – I went back dark about two years ago and it still hasn’t recovered 😦 Most recently I dyed my hair dark blue, and now my roots are coming through and I can’t figure out what to do about it next as I hate being dark!
